This pump is a Waterway Viper 56-Frame Spa Pump rated at 4.0 HP (often listed as 5HP) with 2-1/2" suction and discharge plumbing connections. The outside measurement from thread edge to thread edge is 3-11/16" on both the suction and pressure sides. This configuration is not commonly found in most standard hot tubs. It is typically used in Coast Spas, certain other high-flow spa brands, and many Swim Spas.
The pump features a Waterway Viper wet end designed for 56-frame motors, providing strong performance and reliability. It includes two double-shielded ball bearings packed with moisture-resistant grease, allowing for quieter operation and longer service life.
The two-speed motor uses insulated windings for improved efficiency, while the split capacitor (start and run)design reduces overall energy consumption. The large high-flow wet end and 2-1/2" intake help deliver strong water movement with reduced noise.
